Black Museum

The Black Museum is a collection of images of faulty electrical works that we have found whilst conducting our works over the years.

On many occasions the customers have narrowly avoided a fire, this is due to sub standard electrical works that have been undertaken possibly by rogue contractors. It reiterats the point that you should only use qualified registered electrical contractors.

On this occasion we found a downlighter that had been installed without sufficient clearance in the ceiling space to allow the heat to disapate. As you can see the flex to the light had badly charred due to the overheating which could have resulted in a fire.

Again with this immersion heater a fire was avoided. This was the result of incompetent workmanship which had left the neutral conductor loose and had been overheating due to the loose connection.
